Brow Lift

Brow Lift Surgery

Brow or forehead lift surgery can help reduce signs of aging, giving you a more youthful appearance. Some people undergo blepharoplasty or skin resurfacing at the same time to further enhance their aesthetic results.

Brow lift surgery may be right for you if:

  • You have deep frown lines between your eyebrows
  • You want to reduce wrinkle lines on your forehead or the bridge of your nose
  • You want to raise your eyebrows and improve your upper eyelids’ appearance

Brow Lift Surgery Procedure

Two major brow lift incision techniques exist, which surgeons use to cater to the unique needs of their patients:

  • A coronal incision, which travels around the scalp beyond the natural hairline
  • Endoscopic incisions, which are smaller and which sit in the hairline

Step 1

Step 2

In both cases, surgeons make adjustments to the muscles in the forehead, removing the reasons for wrinkles and smoothing your facial contour. Then, excess skin is removed and the incisions are closed with dissolvable sutures or glue.

The Recovery Process

Your surgeon may place a thin tube under your skin during surgery to help disperse fluid during the initial recovery phase. You will see the results of your surgery once bruising and swelling has gone away, which may be as soon as a week or two after the procedure.

Important Questions About Brow Lift Surgery

Will the wrinkles return after an eyebrow lift?

During your medical consultation your surgeon will point out that the skin will continue to age. It is important that you understand that the ageing process will not stop after a browlift. However, although it can’t stop the natural ageing process, the removal of excess skin will provide much smoother and more youthful appearance.

Who is the most suitable browlift patient?

The best patient is someone with a general saggy appearance to the skin. If the patient also has lots of wrinkles, non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatment can be combined with a brow lift for an improved overall result.

Could I have a face-lift at the same time?

Yes, the best results are achieved when these two procedures are combined resulting in a dramatic overall improvement.

Will there be scarring after facial rejuvenation?

In the case of a brow-lift an incision is made close to the natural hairline. During a facelift incisions are made in the natural crease lines. In both procedures post operative scarring will fade over time and become virtually undetectable.
